From a single optimized tour to a complete field service system: we compare the free Skynet Navigator, the new Business+ team cockpit, Google Maps and the specialized visit planner Portatour — objectively and without talking any provider down.
Depending on the task, a multi-stop route planner is enough — or you need a system that manages customers, visits and jobs.
A technician with eight appointments, a delivery driver with twenty addresses, a sales team with customer visits all across town: in all these cases, the order of the stops determines time, fuel and costs. But as soon as regular customer visits, installation jobs or multiple employees come into play, pure route planning is no longer enough.
The market offers roughly four approaches: free map services like Google Maps, lightweight multi-stop route planners like Skynet Navigator, specialized visit planners for sales like Portatour — and integrated team systems. That is exactly where the new Skynet Business+ comes in: it combines interval-based visit planning (as known from Portatour) with installation/job management and dispatching in one tool.
For businesses that manage sales and installation — not just plan routes.
Customer base with visit intervals, automatic due/overdue suggestions and an optimized weekly plan via the existing routing engine — the classic Portatour logic.
Job and maintenance management with dispatching board, daily routes for technicians, job sheet and photo documentation straight from the phone.
GPS-based detection of which locations were actually visited — visited or skipped, at a glance.
Open REST API and webhooks: web form → lead, completed job → invoice, new location → spreadsheet. Connected with one click.
Multi-day visit plan (up to 7 days) with planning parameters (departure point, working hours, break), map view of all locations by due date and export as Excel & PDF.
Central customer base with contact details, configurable categories per company and CSV import of existing location lists.
Two clearly separated work areas – configurable per company as sales only, installation only or both. A sales location becomes an installation job with one click.
Completely free during the beta phase until the end of 2026 · no subscription
Four approaches side by side — as of June 2026. Feature sets can change.

An honest assessment — not every solution is made for everyone.
For teams that manage customer visits and installation jobs: visit intervals, dispatching board, tracker, photo documentation and API in one tool. Ideal for small and medium-sized field sales and service teams.
For everyone who simply wants to optimize daily tours with multiple stops — free, no login, with driver PDF and Excel export. The ideal starting point before Business+.
Sensible for the single trip with live traffic. For commercial tours with many stops it lacks automatic optimization and a route plan.
Established, specialized visit planner for sales with deep CRM integration (Salesforce/Dynamics). Strong in pure sales; it does not cover installation/dispatching.
Business+ is the team cockpit from Skynet Navigator: a multi-tenant system for field teams that separates sales and installation. It brings a customer base with visit intervals, automatic visit suggestions, a dispatching board for installation jobs, GPS route detection, photo documentation and an API for Make and Zapier.
For many small and medium-sized teams, yes. Portatour is an established, specialized visit planner for sales. Business+ also covers interval-based visit planning and additionally combines it with installation/job management and dispatching in one tool. Which solution fits depends on team size and requirements — if you need deep CRM integration with Salesforce/Dynamics, Portatour is a good choice; if you want to manage sales and installation together, Business+ is.
For a single trip, yes. For tours with many stops, Google Maps reaches its limits: the order of the stops is not optimized automatically, and there is no print-ready route plan for the driver.
Yes. Business+ has a REST API and webhooks. Via ready-made building blocks for Make and Zapier you can, for example, turn web forms into leads, send completed jobs to your invoicing software or write new locations to a spreadsheet.
Not at the moment. The Navigator plans tours based on car routing. Truck-specific restrictions such as bridge heights, weight limits or transit bans are not taken into account.
Business+ turns the multi-stop route planner into a system for your whole team — or start for free with a single optimized tour.
